About Hawaii, it was amazing. This picture was taken at the Volcano National Park where we hiked for two days. We were able to hike down to a solidified lava lake, a 400 foot drop! I’m married to the friendliest man on the face of the planet who connected with several locals in our neighborhood. We became fast friends with Ken and Joanne, and spent an afternoon making chocolate with them (here’s that youtube video: https://youtu.be/GzkiqkVq-9Q?si=b34-D1DV9YTHf0sU ). I’m not going to lie, I was sad when it came time to say goodbye. (Although we’ve been texting since we left).

Black sand beach was one of my favorite spots. Not only was the sand amazing, but the turtles on the beach were so fun to watch. I snorkeled and had trouble finding a turtle, until one swam below me!!!

What was the best part? Having a month. We didn’t have to hurry to get things done. We loved our apartment that I found on Airbnb. It was 400 feet from the ocean, and it was in the country. We walked to the water daily, and only a handful of times did we even see humans, but we saw whales every single day!
