Black Friday is here, and while the big box stores roar to life, something very different is happening out here on our little 25-acre farm.

When you choose to shop small — especially with a woman-owned farm like ours — you’re not helping a corporation meet a quarterly goal. You’re helping me finish my soap shop. Life on the Farm Right Now

Some of our sweet girls are already pregnant — Little Lucy, Pinky, Oreo, and Tulip.

And let me tell you… they are feeling themselves. They strut around like they know they’re growing the future milk supply that becomes your favorite soaps, lotions, and anti-itch bars.

Then there are the girls who still need their dates — Lola, Tria, Toffee, and Latte.

When the girls go into heat, it is hilarious and adorable. They hang out by the boys’ pen, tails wagging like teenagers waiting outside the gym, absolutely sure they’re ready for romance. The boys act like they’re hosting a bachelor audition. It’s farm-life reality TV.

All of this — the pregnancies, the planning, the anticipation — is what brings us to springtime milk. That milk fills our freezers and becomes the soaps and lotions you bring into your home.
